How to interpret it

Higher Brix can indicate greater soluble-solids production and more energy available for growth, nutrient conversion, reproductive development, and natural defense. Less insect leaf feeding was also observed on treated plants, but that observation does not establish pest control or prove cause and effect.

Protocol: R3 soybeans, three sampling dates, 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., full sun. Brix is a comparative field indicator, not a stand-alone yield predictor or guarantee.

Key Takeaways

Nitrogen Efficiency Improvements

L-CBF products consistently improve nitrogen use efficiency, allowing growers to achieve equal or higher yields with less nitrogen applied. The Martinsville trial showed a 17% reduction in nitrate leaching while gaining +13 bu/ac.

Synergistic Program Benefits

Combining in-furrow starter with foliar applications shows synergistic responses greater than either application alone. The Brooklyn soybean trial showed +15.20 bu/ac with the combined approach.

Consistent Multi-Year Performance

Multi-year averages demonstrate reliable, repeatable results across different growing conditions. The 3-year Clarion trials showed consistent positive responses for both corn and soybeans.
